Spanish markets have seen a surge in cereal prices this month, with soft wheat and barley experiencing over a 3% increase. Despite this, prices are still lower than at the start of the year. The price increase is attributed to a rebound due to forecasts of a 5% decrease in European production, but the pressure of the US corn harvest is keeping prices in check. Spanish cereal producers and livestock farmers are seeking anti-dumping measures on Ukrainian cereal imports, which they believe are reducing prices for Spanish producers.
