The Peruvian Government is promoting the consumption of Andean grains such as quinoa, cañihua, kiwicha, and tarwi due to their high nutritional value and adaptation to climate change. Over 125,000 families in Peru are engaged in their production, and Peru is the world's leading exporter of quinoa. The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) is spearheading efforts to increase domestic consumption of these superfoods. These grains are rich in essential amino acids, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and other micronutrients, making them excellent for cell and tissue health.
