Fish farmers have released peled larvae into the Vilyui and Svetlinskoye reservoirs, and whitefish, vendace, and whitefish larvae into the Lena River. The Vilyui River has also been stocked with young Siberian sturgeon. Plans are underway to establish a breeding center at the Chernyshevsky fish farm, where sturgeon and whitefish broodstocks have already been formed. Additionally, nelma and omul broodstocks are being developed.
