A quarter of Russians already follow vegetarian or flexitarian principles, with 8% identifying as vegans. Health concerns are the primary reason for switching to plant-based foods for 46% of Russians, while compassion for animals is the main reason for people aged 18-23. Demand for plant-based alternatives has increased by 30% in the first half of 2023, with plant-based milk leading the growth.
