Mozambique to export a new lychee variety to Europe

As of this year, Mozambique will export a new variety of lychee, pitted, to the European continent. This is a variety of high commercial value, of Chinese origin, whose techniques for its materialization in the country are being implemented in the central province of Manica. The information was shared in Tete, at the launch ceremony of the Catalytic Fund for Innovation and Demonstration, by the representative of Westfalia Fruta Moçambique, a fruit growing firm, based in Manica. Anselmo Mareque, quoted by the newspaper Notícias, made it known that Mozambique has agro-ecological conditions to introduce the seedless lychee species in districts that enjoy micro-climates, for example Macossa, in Manica province.
