In 2020, Ukraine saw a 19% increase in mushroom production, reaching 19.1 thousand tons, with champignons being the most cultivated variety among oyster mushrooms, shiitake, and honeysuckle. The majority of the production was consumed domestically, with only 1-8% being exported, primarily to Moldova and Belarus. However, exports experienced a significant decrease, dropping by 5 times to 0.2 thousand tons in 2020 compared to the previous year.
