The state of winter crops on January 1 is satisfactory, according to the analytical report on agrometeorological conditions and the state of crops in Ukraine from NAAS. The third decade of December in Ukraine was characterized by unstable temperature, with precipitation, ice and fog, weather. Almost throughout the country, the average air temperature was higher than normal by 2-8 0C and was 0.5-5.8 0C heat, only in the east and south on some days it was close to normal and ranged from minus 2.2 to plus 1.7 0C. The maximum air temperature increased to 0.8-11.0 0C of heat, the minimum decreased to 2-5 0C of frost. There is no snow cover on winter crops in most areas. Deep freezing of the soil was not recorded, and the soil temperature at the depth of the winter wheat tillering site did not fall below minus 3 0С, which is much higher than the critical freezing temperature.
