"Nagykunság quince brandy" from Hungary also received EU protection

After "Plum brandy from Nagykunság" and "rice from Nagykunság" registered in May, "Nagykunság quince brandy" also became a protected name in the European Union. With the regulation published by the European Commission on 31 August, this is the third EU-protected product from Nagykunság. 'Nagykunság quince brandy' can only be produced using quince from the area of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county east of the Tisza line, and in processing brandy distilleries located in the same area. At least 50% of the raw material of 'Nagykunság quince brandy' comes from the Mezőtúr quince landscape, thanks to which rosé, perfumed and fragrant notes dominate in the brandy.
