Naju City is making full efforts to maintain its reputation as the nation's largest pear production area by preventing the occurrence of pear and apple tree frost disease, which is fatal to the crops. Naju City announced on the 22nd that, in order to prevent winter infection of pear and apple tree frost disease, they have been distributing wound site application agents to 2,184 pear and apple farmers and fruit tree management organizations over a period of about 10 days starting from the 11th. Pear and apple tree frost disease is a bacterial disease that occurs in plants of the Rosaceae family, such as pears and apples, where, upon infection, leaves, flowers, branches, stems, and fruits blacken and wither as if they have been burned, and in severe cases, the entire tree dies. Particularly, the transmission speed is fast and there is no cure.
