REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas), Arief Prasetyo Adi, stated that national corn production has experienced a surplus in relation to consumption, bringing corn self-sufficiency closer to realization and supporting Indonesia's vision of becoming the world's food barn. "The achievement of corn self-sufficiency is optimistically becoming more of a reality for Indonesia. Under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, Indonesia will not only be self-sufficient in corn but also capable of becoming the world's food barn," said Arief, as confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday (11/6/2025). He noted this is evident in the movement of dry shelled corn production with 14 percent water content (JPK KA 14 percent) from January to July this year, which continues to exceed national consumption needs.
