REPUBLICA.CO.ID, NORTH HALMAHERA -- Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized that the downstream processing of coconuts is key to increasing the value of national plantation commodities exports. By processing coconuts into high-value products, the economic potential of this sector is estimated to reach Rp 1,000 trillion per year. "Currently, our coconut exports are worth around Rp 24 trillion per year. If fully downstream processed, the value could jump up to 50-100 times, reaching Rp 1,000 trillion or more.
