Norway's mackerel exports in September this year plummeted to one-third of the volume in the same month last year. While the reduction in catch quotas and delays in fishing significantly decreased export quantities, salmon recorded the highest monthly export performance ever. However, due to the combined effects of declining exports of mackerel and trout, along with the strengthening of the krone, the total seafood export value could not surpass last year's level. According to data released by the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) on the 5th, the mackerel export volume in September was 17,286 tons, a 67% decrease compared to the same month last year. The export value also fell by 59%, reaching 925 million kroner. In monetary terms, this is approximately 1.3 billion kroner less than the same month last year.
