As of September 1, Siberian farmers have lost the reduced export duty on rapeseed, which was previously 6.5% at the Zabaikalsk-Manchuria border post. This reduced rate now only applies to the Irkutsk Region and the Trans-Baikal Territory, with specific export quotas. Krasnoyarsk Krai has proposed maintaining the reduced rate for the entire Siberian Federal District, emphasizing the importance of low duties for agricultural profitability and domestic market stability. Novosibirsk deputies support this proposal. Meanwhile, grain exports from Siberia to Kazakhstan have dropped by 36%, although oilseed exports, including rapeseed, sunflower, and flax seeds, remain robust. Additionally, bad weather has caused preliminary damage exceeding 1 billion rubles to farmers in the Novosibirsk region.
