In October 2024, fig exports from Peru experienced a significant surge, reaching 326 tons and earning US$ 2.4 million. This represented an 112% increase in volume and a 157% increase in value compared to the same month in 2023. The average price per kilogram also rose by 22% to US$ 7.51. The Netherlands, the UK, and the US were the primary markets, with the Netherlands accounting for 47% of the share. The exports were mainly from Ancash and were handled primarily through Jorge Chávez International Airport. The leading exporters were Exportadora Frutícola del Sur S.A., Fundo la Kiarita S.A.C., and Botanika Productos Orgánicos del Perú E.I.R.L.
