Spain: Olive oil production grows by 28% compared to the previous campaign, to exceed 850,000 tons

The harvest of the current olive oil campaign until April records a growth in production reaching 850,157 tons. This means an increase of 11% over initial estimates and 28% over the previous campaign. Furthermore, a good pace of olive oil marketing can be seen. Regarding the forecast for the next harvest, estimates point to a recovery in production thanks to the rainfall and good weather conditions in recent weeks. As a consequence, prices are expected to be below the high levels recorded in the current campaign. The data for table olives has also been updated, whose campaign has reached its eighth month. Production has reached 408,000 tons and there is a slight reduction in sales.
