Onion exporters focus on Europe

African countries are no longer in the top 5 of most important buyers in week 8. Great Britain is the most important buyer with 3,547 tonnes. The sales volume to Great Britain is very stable at this level every week. Demand from Spain and Germany is also good. They received 1,389 tons and 1,213 tons of onions respectively in the last full week of February. Poland (1,070 tons), Israel (977 tons), Ukraine (834 tons) and France (655 tons) are next on the list. The total onion sales this season (week 27 2022 up to and including week 8 2023) amount to 920,638 tons. That is 6.5% less than was sold in the same period last season.
