The Brazilian government has announced that Costa Rica has authorized the import of live horses from Brazil, a move expected to enhance trade and demonstrate confidence in Brazil's health control system. Costa Rica is a key market for Brazilian agricultural products, with exports reaching US$272 million in 2023 and US$153 million in the first half of 2024. In February, Brazil also opened a market in Costa Rica for mesenchymal stem cell products from animals. This development marks the 86th market opening for Brazilian agriculture in 2024, totaling 164 openings in 54 countries since 2023, thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
