Brazil: Opening of a market in Costa Rica for the export of live horses

The Brazilian government welcomed the announcement by the Costa Rican government of authorization for Brazil to export live horses to that country. This new opening should contribute to an increase in trade flow between the two countries, reflecting international confidence in Brazil's health control system. Costa Rica is an important destination for Brazilian agricultural products. The main exported items are cereals, flours and preparations, forestry products and soy products. In 2023, Brazil's agricultural exports to this market reached US$272 million. In the first half of 2024, they reached US$153 million.
