The Peruvian fresh orange campaign in 2023 has seen a significant increase in exports, with 16,445 tons sold for US$8 million, a volume increase of 70% and value increase of 94%. This growth is attributed to increased imports from the Netherlands, the main destination market, which purchased 10,147 tons for US$4 million, a volume increase of 73% and value increase of 108%. Spain, on the other hand, has been facing challenges with its orange crops due to drought and high temperatures, resulting in a reduction of 20% in the orange harvest. Additionally, there has been an increase in exports to the United Kingdom and the Dominican Republic. The UK purchased 2,926 tons, an increase of 188% in volume and 322% in value, while the Dominican Republic purchased 1,119 tons, an increase of 39% in volume and 57% in value.
