Organic tomato harvest from Women's Cooperative in Malatya

In Doğanşehir district of Malatya, the Zeynep Ana Women's Cooperative, established by women's initiative, has begun harvesting organic tomatoes produced on an area of 33 acres. The harvested tomatoes are transformed into winter tomato paste and offered for both retail and wholesale sale. In Malatya, one of Turkey's most important apricot production centers, agricultural frost experienced in recent months negatively affected fruit producers. Following the severe crop loss in apricots, some producers have turned to vegetable production. In Doğanşehir district, the Zeynep Ana Women's Cooperative, established by women's initiative three years ago, has begun harvesting organic tomatoes produced on an area of 33 acres.
