Paddy purchases continue in Bafra, Turkiye

The Soil Products Office (TMO) continues to purchase paddy from producers in the Bafra district of Samsun. Bafra Chamber of Agriculture President Osman Tosuner told AA correspondent that paddy was planted in 151 thousand acres of land in the Bafra Plain this year. Stating that the planting of paddy was carried out from the 20s of May to the 15s of June, Tosuner said, "We had our first harvest on the 25th of September. The paddy harvest is completely finished in the Bafra Plain." Pointing out that the TMO started purchasing in the first week of October, Tosuner said, "There are 2,585 paddy producers in the Bafra Plain. Purchases are ongoing. Paddy purchases will continue until the end of December. We were informed that 30 thousand tons were purchased in the Alaçam, Bafra, Yakakent and 19 Mayıs districts this season."
