(Paju=Yonhap News) Reporter No Seung-hyuk = Gyeonggi Province's Paju City announced on the 4th that it will accept applications for the '2026 Small-Scale Agricultural Machinery Support Project for Agricultural Management Equipment' until the 26th to reduce the workload of farmers and improve farming environments. This project aims to increase the farming convenience for elderly farmers, female farmers, and small to medium-scale farmers, and provides support for the purchase of nine types of small-scale agricultural machinery, including walking management equipment, ride-on management equipment, small tractors, power transporters, high-altitude work vehicles, electric battery shears, electric sprayers, agricultural work tables, and field crop threshers. The applicants must be registered farmers residing in Gyeonggi Province before January 1st of last year and currently farming or leasing Paju City farmland. The project cost is composed of a 50% subsidy (15% from the provincial government and 35% from the city government) and a 50% self-contribution, with different subsidy limits applied for each type of equipment. Applications can be submitted by visiting the industry team at the administrative welfare center of the town or township where the farmland is located (for urban areas, the agricultural policy division and agricultural and food support team). Detailed information, including project guidelines, can be found on the 'Paju Agricultural Technology Center homepage - Information Plaza - News' bulletin board. Selected project participants must comply with post-purchase regulations and attach a 'Gyeonggi Province and Paju City Support Sign' to all supported agricultural machinery.
