Papaya harvest begins in Alanya, selling for up to 100 liras per kilogram

Papaya harvest has begun in the Alanya district of Antalya, which has become an important center for tropical fruit production in Türkiye. Papaya, produced in a limited area in the district, provides high income to its producers. In recent years, tropical fruit production in Alanya continues to diversify with papaya, following banana and avocado. Papayas grown in greenhouses under controlled conditions have started to be harvested as they enter the ripening period. Producers are satisfied with the high yield per acre and market demand.
