Paraguay has achieved a significant milestone in the livestock sector by gaining recognition for its genetic material in international markets, with Central America, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and now Peru expressing interest. This development is made possible by the collaboration between the public and private sectors, highlighting the authorization of the Chaco Institute of Animal Biotechnology (ICBA) as the second laboratory for export. Located in Loma Plata and affiliated with the Ideagro Foundation, ICBA's focus on bovine species genetics has generated anticipation for international trade. The country's progress in veterinary services, credibility, and vaccination efforts against foot-and-mouth disease have bolstered its reputation as a reliable exporter, with increased interest from Taiwan, Korea, and the European community.
