As of May 31, 2021, peanut stocks in commercial storage reached 2.89 billion pounds, an increase from 2.74 billion pounds the previous year. The stocks consist of 2.07 billion pounds of actual farmer stock and 780 million pounds of shelled peanuts. Millings in May totaled 415 million pounds, with the majority being Runners. Commercial processors utilized 210 million pounds of shelled edible grade peanuts in May for various products such as peanut butter, candy, and snacks. Deliveries under the Government Domestic Feeding and Child Nutrition Programs amounted to 3.34 million pounds of peanut butter and 25,920 pounds of roasted peanuts. Finally, the stocks of treated seed on hand decreased to 16.3 million pounds from 45.7 million pounds in April.
