On June 7, conservation officers in Prince Edward Island (P.E.I) are investigating a mysterious death event among trout in Cardigan, with initial findings indicating the loss of around 150 fish, including brook, rainbow trout, and young salmon, located near the 48 Road. The Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action is collaborating with the Justice and Public Safety department to analyze water quality parameters and pathology reports from the Atlantic Veterinary College and Environment Canada lab to determine the cause of mass fish death. The public is informed that more information will be released as the investigation progresses.
