On April 8, 2024, global pepper prices remained stable, with no significant changes reported in major producing countries. Indonesia's Lampung black pepper was priced at 4,463 USD/ton, and Muntok white pepper at 6,179 USD/ton. Malaysia and Brazil also reported stable prices for their pepper varieties. Vietnam's black and white pepper prices were consistent, with domestic prices ranging between 92,500 and 94,000 VND/kg. Despite stable prices, Vietnam experienced a 26.1% decrease in pepper exports in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the previous year, with a slight 0.1% drop in export turnover. The country saw varying export trends, with increases to Korea, Germany, and the US, but decreases to China, the UAE, and Iran among others.
