The official newspaper of the Indian government, La Gaceta de la India, has published the phytosanitary requirements for the entry of Peruvian citrus and blueberries. This approval is seen as a significant opportunity for these crops, as India is a relevant market. Peru will be able to export mandarins, oranges, lemons, grapefruits, and berries of the Vaccinium spp species. The country already exports grapes and avocados to India, which have found a niche in the Asian market. India's Citrus group, which includes oranges, is the third most imported fruit, and there is increasing preference for blueberries in the middle and high socioeconomic sectors of the country.
