Peru strengthens its global leadership in the asparagus market with growth of 11%

(Agraria.pe) According to data provided by the consultancy Fresh Cargo Peru, up to week 44 of this year, Peruvian asparagus exports have reached the figure of 3,710 containers (89,836 tons), representing an increase of 11% compared to the same period of the previous year. This growth is mainly attributed to an increase in maritime shipments and greater efficiency in international logistics. North America continues to be the main destination, accounting for 73% of the total exported volume, followed by Europe, which represents 25%. Both regions show strong year-on-year growth, consolidating Peru's role as a key supplier in the global market. For its part, Latin America, although still representing a smaller portion, stands out with a 17% increase, revealing new opportunities for the development of emerging markets.
