Peru exported 7,833 tons of beans for $11.8 million in September 2024

In September 2024, Peru exported 7,833 tons of beans worth $11.8 million, which represented an increase of 45% in volume and 12% in value compared to the same month in 2023. However, the average export price decreased by 23%, going from $1.95 to $1.50 per kilogram, according to FreshFruit. Peruvian beans were sent to 19 destinations, with the United States standing out with 38% of the share, followed by South Korea with 21% and the Dominican Republic with 18%. In total, these three countries accounted for more than 75% of exports. Regarding the United States, this month it surpassed South Korea's purchases, ranking as the main market for Peruvian beans. Purchases from this market amounted to 2,379 tons for $4.4 million. Compared to September 2023, exports to this destination increased by 34% in volume and 39% in value, which generated a slight increase of 4% in the average price: $1.86 per kilogram.
