Peru has exported the first batch of coffee labeled as Café Villa Rica, a designation of origin recognized as one of the world's finest coffees. This initiative aims to boost the economic development of coffee producers in Villa Rica, Oxapampa, Pasco region. The export process involves 49 sacks of green beans to Argentina, having passed the Regulatory Council's certification process, ensuring product traceability, quality, and origin. This achievement is facilitated by the Peruvian-Swiss Intellectual Property Project, funded by the Swiss Economic Cooperation, and marks a significant step towards enhancing the differentiation and market positioning of Peruvian coffee.
