In the first half of 2020, Peru's fruit exports to Russia experienced a significant growth, leading to a rise in the country's ranking as a supplier to Russia. According to Fresh Fruit consultancy, Russia's fruit imports worldwide increased by 6.7% year-over-year, reaching US $2,738 million. Peru's exports to Russia made up 2.7% of this total, marking a 27.7% increase compared to the same period in 2019. The main fruits exported by Peru to Russia include mango, avocado, pomegranate, grape, blueberry, and mandarin. This surge in exports has positioned Peru as the thirteenth largest supplier of fruits to Russia, overtaking Pakistan.
