Between January and May, imports of agricultural products in Germany totaled US$ 18,233 million, which meant an increase of 3% compared to the previous year. Of this total, US$ 313 million were provided by agricultural exporters from Peru, 36% above what was sent a year earlier. With this result, Peru ranked 15th among the most important suppliers to Germany, with a 1.7% share (0.4 percentage points more than the previous year).
Its most important suppliers were Spain (15% share), the Netherlands (13%) and Italy (8%). With this good result, Peru climbed four positions compared to the same period in 2021, surpassing important competitors in the Latin American region such as Colombia and Costa Rica. Until May 2022, the main Peruvian agricultural products imported by Germany were coffee (39% share), mango (14%) and avocado (6%).
