In 2023, Peru will strengthen its status as the top global exporter of quinoa, contributing 43% of worldwide exports and earning over US$ 98 million. Claudia Solano Oré from the ADEX Exporters Association emphasized Peru's ideal conditions for cultivating Andean grains and the need to maintain quality and prevent overproduction to sustain prices. The US remains the largest market for Peruvian quinoa, followed by Canada, the UK, and other countries, with Ayacucho being the leading production region. ADEX is prioritizing scientific research, technical standards, and innovation to boost Andean grains. Notably, in the first five months of 2024, Peru's quinoa exports surged by 42.1% compared to the same period in 2023.
