Peruvian Beekeeper's Day is celebrated every September 23 to honor the vital contributions of over 40,000 beekeepers managing around 300,000 hives. These beekeepers are essential for agriculture and environmental conservation, supporting biodiversity and producing honey with numerous health benefits. Peru offers a variety of honey types, including dark honey from the north, light honey from eucalyptus areas, and multifloral honey from the Amazon. Key beekeeping regions include Cusco, La Libertad, Junín, Lima, Apurímac, and Cajamarca, with an annual production of approximately 2,314 tons of honey. The commemoration was established by Regulation of Law No. 26305.
