In 2020, Peru's citrus exports reached a record high, with a 37% increase in value compared to the previous year, amounting to 244,783 tons valued at $262 million. The demand for citrus, particularly due to its antioxidant properties and vitamin C content, has grown during the pandemic. The U.S. was the primary market for these exports, followed by the Netherlands, Canada, China, and Russia. Both mandarin and orange productions have seen steady growth since 2010, with mandarin production reaching 525,000 tons and orange production reaching 553,000 tons in 2020.
