Peruvian coffee breaks record in July 2024 by doubling its exports

(Agraria.pe) In July 2024, Peru exported 32,308 tons of coffee for US$ 144.2 million, which represented a growth of +110% in volume and +122% in value compared to the 15,348 tons for US$ 65 million recorded in the same month of the previous year. In July of this year, Peruvian coffee reached a greater diversity of destinations, reaching more than 35 countries. The increase in imports from the main buyers was key to this year's positive results, but also helped by larger purchases from destinations such as Canada and Sweden, whose acquisitions exceeded US$ 6 million, with increases of 319% and 189%, respectively. The main market was the United States (30% share), which acquired 9,289 tons (+118%) for a value of US$ 43.3 million (+130%), with an average price of US$ 4.66 per kilogram (+6%).
