In 2024, Peruvian coffee exports experienced significant growth, reaching a historic high of US$ 5.08 per kilogram in October due to global supply concerns in Brazil and Vietnam. The country saw a 16% increase in volume and 25% increase in value compared to the previous year, capitalizing on the uncertainty in Vietnam and Brazil's coffee production. Despite challenges like adverse weather and pests, Peruvian producers have partially met the increased demand, especially from China. However, the future of Brazilian production and its impact on international prices remains uncertain, highlighting the need for Peruvian producers to address their own challenges to maintain market stability and continue meeting demand. Additionally, Peruvian grain exports grew to 54 countries, with the United States as the primary market, and logistics played a crucial role in handling the exported volume.
