Peru is making strides in increasing its agricultural exports by developing health protocols for various fruits to enter new markets. The National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa) is working on protocols for aguaymanto, pitahaya, lucuma, pomegranates, pecans, and frozen fruits like mango, avocado, and blueberry to enter the United States and China. Additionally, protocols for citrus and blueberries are being developed for New Zealand, and citrus for Vietnam and pomegranates for South Korea. There is also plans to export peppers and chili peppers to Argentina and citrus to Brazil. In the first half of 2024, Peruvian agricultural exports saw an 11.3% increase, reaching US$ 4,504 million.
