The Peruvian Edward mango enters the South Korean market for the first time, in a venture led by LATIDA, Dolefarmer, and Dominus that expands the presence of Peruvian mango in Asia and complements the already established Kent variety. This country is one of the largest per capita consumers of Peruvian mango and projects an initial demand of 1,000 boxes per week of this new variety, reported the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (Promperú). LATIDA CEO Juwon Sul (Juan) highlighted the potential of this opening: “The Peruvian mango is so valued in Korea that we decided to get ahead of the Kent season and bet on a new variety. The Korean consumer appreciates consistency, aroma, and presentation, and the Edward meets all of these.
