Peru is the fourth largest exporter of mangoes, with 7 varieties including Kent, Haden, Ataulfo, Tommy Atkins, Edward, and Keit. The country exported 243,642 tons in the 2021-2022 campaign to over 60 countries. Chile temporarily halted imports of Peruvian mangoes due to the discovery of queresas pests, but exports were resumed following a plan that includes hydrothermal treatment and compliance with sanitary measures. The Peruvian Association of Mango Producers and Exporters predicts an 8.5% increase in production for this season. Canada is now the main buyer of Peruvian fruit, with a total of 1,184 tons for USD 2 million, marking a significant increase from Chile.
