In July 2024, Peruvian onion exports experienced substantial growth, reaching 37,402 tons valued at US$ 19.7 million, a 62% increase in volume and 89% in value from the previous year. The United States remained the largest market, though its share decreased from 92.5% to 58%, with Colombia and the Dominican Republic becoming significant importers. The US imported 16,153 tons, with the export value rising by 19% to US$ 11.4 million due to a 50% increase in average price. Colombia's imports increased over 16 times to 11,343 tons, valued at US$ 2.8 million, with a 14% price increase. The Dominican Republic's imports grew over 23 times to 3,275 tons, valued at US$ 2.7 million, with a slight 1% price increase.
