Peruvian oregano exports grow in volume by 8.75% but fall in value by 6.66% between January and May 2023

(Agraria.pe) In the first five months of this year, Peruvian oregano exports reached 3,273,012 kilos, showing a growth of +8.75% compared to the 3,009,643 kilos shipped in the same period of 2022. This was reported by Agrodata Peru, who indicated that, from January to May 2023, oregano shipments from our country totaled US$ 6,291,224, registering a drop of -6.66% versus the US$ 6,738,162 obtained in similar months of the previous year. The report shows that in the first five months of this year, the average price of oregano exported by Peru amounted to US$ 1.92 per kilogram, noting a decrease of -14.28% compared to the US$ 2.24 per kilogram on average obtained in the same period of 2022. The main destination of oregano from Peru between January and May 2023 was Brazil with purchases for US$ 2,133,429, participating with 34% of the total.
