In January 2024, Peruvian pomegranate exports experienced a remarkable surge, with revenues reaching US$6,681,000, marking a 448% increase from the previous year. This growth in exports, primarily consisting of fresh and frozen pomegranates, was predominantly to the Netherlands, Brazil, and the United States. The significant rise in exports is credited to the efforts of several Peruvian companies, with the bulk of pomegranate production located in Ica, and notable contributions from Arequipa, Lima, Lambayeque, Áncash, and the newly emerging region of Tacna.
