In January, Peruvian pomegranate exports experienced a remarkable surge, totaling US$ 6 million 681 thousand, marking a 448% increase from the same period in 2023. This growth in exports, which includes both fresh and frozen pomegranates, is primarily attributed to the efforts of several Peruvian companies, with the majority of production occurring in Ica. The Netherlands, Brazil, and the United States emerged as the leading importers of this fruit, which is celebrated for its superfood qualities. The significant rise in exports reflects an increasing global demand for both fresh and frozen pomegranates.
