In 2023, the Philippine pork production is anticipated to see an 8% increase compared to 2022, reaching 1 million MT, due to commercial producers planning to raise larger pigs. This growth follows a year of reduced production due to African swine fever outbreaks. Concurrently, the country's pork imports are projected to rise by 4% from the previous year, hitting 600,000 MT, driven by lower tariffs that have been extended until the end of 2023.
