In 2021, Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do, South Korea, produced 4622 tons of pickled cabbage, generating sales of 9.5 billion won. The production was led by 158 farms, primarily in the areas of Jucheon-myeon, Yeongwol-eup, and Nam-myeon, and the cabbage's crunchy texture and savory taste are due to the area's limestone soil and large daily temperature difference. Despite the challenges of COVID-19 and poor harvest, the production was successful due to quality control and high-production technology.
