Egypt: Plan to increase camels in Marsa Matrouh to 40 thousand heads

The Desert Research Center, in cooperation with the Egyptian Camel Society, organized a celebration on the occasion of the International Year of Camels, under the title "Camels: An Economic, Social and Cultural Heritage" at the Sustainable Development Headquarters in Matrouh, in the presence of a number of prominent figures, researchers and camel breeders. Engineer Mahmoud Al-Amir, Director of the Sustainable Development Center for Matrouh Resources, said that the Sustainable Development Center is working hard to provide support to breeders in the livestock sector, especially camels, as Matrouh Governorate contributes about a third of the camels in Egypt, and stressed that the center aims to enhance this vital sector through a set of initiatives.
