PM wraps up the 3-day Isan tour in Thailand

SURIN: Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin vowed to promote agricultural products from across the Northeast, including organic rice and premium beef, as he wrapped up his three-day tour of the region on Sunday. Mr Srettha, accompanied by several cabinet ministers, visited Roi Et, Ubon Ratchathani, Si Sa Ket and Surin from Friday until Sunday, to identify each province's potential and problems. Speaking to the press at Rattanaburi School in Surin, where he concluded his tour of the region, he promised to promote the region's agricultural produce in an effort to boost the local economy. He pledged to support the development of "Surin-gyu", a breed of Japanese cattle that is reared in the province, which is starting to gain popularity in the market. He also promised to upgrade the province's slaughterhouses to meet international standards.
