Polish farmers are facing a significant drop in purchase prices for soft fruits due to large imports from Ukraine. Ukrainian production costs are lower, and they are not required to meet strict EU environmental standards. This has resulted in Polish producers receiving only 6.5 to 7 zlotys (70-75 UAH) per kilogram of raspberries, which is below the profitability level. Polish farmers are calling for limits on imports to level the playing field and are criticizing the inadequate control system for goods entering Poland. They fear that imports will continue to drive down prices and may prompt them to protest again after the completion of their field work.
