In January, Ukraine significantly contributed to the global apple market by exporting fresh apples to 22 countries, with a notable emphasis on the Middle Eastern market, which accounted for over 60% of its exports. The United Arab Emirates emerged as the top importer with 2,500 tons of Ukrainian apples. Other key importing countries included Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Sweden—the largest European importer. The exports also reached countries like Uzbekistan, Turkey (primarily for re-export to India), Jordan, and Oman. This export pattern underscores the Southeast or Middle East as the primary destinations for Ukrainian apples, contrasting with Poland's export volumes to similar markets, particularly the UAE and Iraq, which were lower.
